On Wednesday, August 9, our association was received by Mrs. Silvia Carrillo, the new Mayor of Pratdip. Three members of the Board were present: Frédéric Zuccheretti, JM Delchef (Jim), and our president Gérard Marais.
A respectful and constructive welcome
For the first time, we must emphasize it, the AVPR – SOS Planas was received with respect and cordiality by the Town Hall. We began the meeting by congratulating Mrs. Carrillo on her electoral victory.
Our demands reaffirmed
We presented the consistent goals of our association: to make the residents of Planes del Rei full citizens, with the same rights and duties as those of Pratdip.
We recalled that our action is a legal resistance to the abuses of former mayors, and that our legal actions have been driven by the need to uphold the most basic rights.
Documents submitted
We handed her two essential documents:
- A summary of the legal actions taken since the 2016 court ruling and the obligations it entails.
- A copy of the administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) filed in December 2021 against the excessive works the former mayor wanted the residents to pay 100% for, even though the municipality owns 45% of the urbanization.
We reiterated our request for the enforcement of Article 26 of Law 7/1985 of April 2 on local governance, requiring the provision of minimum public services, starting with street lighting.
On the integration of Planes
We expressed our incomprehension regarding the partial integration of the urbanization (only the green areas), especially since these areas have remained unchanged since 1965. Mrs. Carrillo also admitted not understanding this decision.
She assured us of her commitment to transparency and her willingness to personally take charge of urbanization-related matters.
A new openness
We welcome this new approach, especially since she expressed her readiness to meet with our lawyer, Maître Barquin — a historic first for our association.
Conclusion
This first meeting was very positive. But only concrete actions from the Town Hall, in line with legality and justice, will truly meet the expectations of the residents.
For AVPR – SOS Planas
President, Gérard Marais
Thank you very much for all your efforts! Our hope is to move forward in a positive way, with the support of an intelligent, democratic and integer new mayor of Pratdip.
A glimmer of hope. Thanks for all your work and the update.
Barry.
We already fixed the light situation, paid by most of Planas. What we need is proper roads and water supply. Urgent.
