Just a few days before the municipal elections on 28 May 2023, the Grup Democràtic Independent de Pratdip (D.I.P.) presents its candidates and the main measures it pledges to support for Planas del Rey.
The list brings together residents of Pratdip and Planas del Rey. It is headed by Ramon Farré, who has lived in the municipality for nearly 25 years.
The programme places particular emphasis on public services, infrastructure and the urban planning situation in Planas del Rey.
The D.I.P. candidates
The list presented for the 2023 municipal elections consists of:
- Ramon Farré;
- Judit Clivillé;
- Domingo Ripollés;
- Margarita Aidett;
- Glòria Moreno;
- Martine Belgeonne;
- Elba Cruz Pardina;
- José Pescador.
D.I.P. presents its candidacy as a diverse list bringing together different viewpoints and representatives of the municipality’s two main population centres.
The commitments announced for Planas del Rey
In its campaign statement, D.I.P. says it intends to guarantee basic public services in Planas del Rey and gradually improve the development’s infrastructure.
The group announces the following initial priorities:
- restoring public street lighting;
- bringing the wastewater treatment plant back into operation;
- securing the water supply;
- expanding the reservoir located in the upper part of the development;
- repairing leaks in the water network;
- introducing temporary safety improvements on the most dangerous roads;
- cleaning and maintaining communal areas.
These are the commitments presented by D.I.P. during the election campaign. Their publication does not mean that these measures had already been funded, planned or approved by the municipal council.
The reparcelación and infrastructure works
D.I.P. also announces its intention to address the urban planning problems affecting Planas del Rey.
The group says it has a road map for moving forward with the PAU-4 economic reparcelación project and clarifying the works required to modernise the development.
However, the statement does not specify the estimated cost of the proposed works, their timetable or how the financial burden would be divided between the municipal council and the property owners.
It sets out campaign objectives but does not yet provide a detailed technical or financial programme.
Proposals for the entire municipality
D.I.P.’s programme also includes several measures intended for the municipality of Pratdip as a whole:
- strengthening wildfire prevention with the Agrupació de Defensa Forestal;
- maintaining rural roads and footpaths;
- introducing public transport connections to neighbouring towns and the railway station;
- developing services for older residents;
- supporting access to housing for young people and creating employment opportunities.
The group presents its candidacy as an alliance between residents of Pratdip and Planas del Rey, with the ambition of governing for the entire municipality.
