Budgets Finally Allocated to Our Urbanisation

On January 15th, the first town council meeting of 2021 was held, during which the annual municipal budgets were submitted for approval.

For the first time, specific budget lines have been allocated in favour of Les Planes del Rei. Here are the main allocations decided:

  • Maintenance of the Casal of Les Planes del Rei: €1,500
  • Electricity consumption of the Casal: €1,000
  • Repair and maintenance of the drinking water supply network: open item, with a minimum of €500, extendable as needed
  • Water tanks: €5,000
  • Swimming pool maintenance work (overall budget of €11,000 shared between Pratdip and Les Planes)
  • Renovation project for the wastewater treatment plant of Les Planes del Rei
  • Public lighting project in Les Planes del Rei
  • Fibre optic installation project throughout the municipality, including Les Planes del Rei

The projects related to the treatment plant and public lighting are still under study. Their final cost will be determined once technical assessments are completed, but the budget lines have already been included to allow future approval.

A Modest but Real Change of Direction

Regarding the maintenance of the water supply network, the allocated amount remains flexible. The minimum is €500, but this amount may be increased depending on technical needs and emergencies.

This is an important signal: the maintenance of the treatment plant, public lighting, and the water network will henceforth be handled by the Pratdip Town Hall.

It is also now confirmed that the maintenance of the Casal, the pools, and the water tanks is the responsibility of the municipality.

As for the treatment plant, the Provincial Council is still assessing whether it should be renovated or replaced with a new one.

Why Avança Pratdip Voted in Favour of the Budget

Although these investments may seem modest, they represent a turning point: for the first time, our urbanisation is considered in municipal decisions.

Thanks to our collective effort, we achieved this progress. That is why we chose to support the budget. But that is not enough.

We must now remain vigilant: ensuring that the Casal reopens, that the water system functions properly, that street lighting is restored, and that the treatment plant renovation project is carried out.

Our demands must continue. But by supporting this budget, we are choosing to move forward concretely with the renovation of our urbanisation.

A New Municipal Civility Ordinance

During the same session, the town council also approved a new civility ordinance. It sets out a clear framework to encourage good neighbourly coexistence across the municipality.

With my best regards,
Glòria Moreno
