This was within its rights.<\/p>\n<p>However, it also attempted to exclude our association from the appeal procedure, claiming before the judges that we were not representative of the population of Planes del Rei.<\/p>\n<p>This maneuver failed: <span class=\"accentue\">the court firmly rejected this argument in a ruling issued in early 2020<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Normally, an appeal is resolved within two years, i.e. by February 2020. But the COVID-19 pandemic has seriously disrupted the justice system.<\/p>\n<p>The Town Hall is now acting as if this appeal were suspensive. <span class=\"accentue\">However, according to the law, it is not<\/span>. But due to the lack of political will to enforce it, we remain in a state of legal uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p>The Town Hall continues to refuse to provide basic services (such as street lighting, among others).<\/p>\n<p>Our lawyer, Ma\u00eetre Barqu\u00edn, informed us that he has still not received the new judicial schedule for this case. However, we can hope for a decision by September, or by the end of 2020.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"accentue\">This ruling is crucial: it will conclude a legal action we began in February 2011<\/span> and will force the Town Hall to effectively enforce the July 21, 2016 judgment.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as we have new information, we will be sure to inform you.<\/p>\n<p>The political party <span class=\"accentue\">Avan\u00e7a Pratdip<\/span>, which we supported during the last elections, has sent us a message for you. We are pleased to share it below.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"accentue\">G\u00e9rard Marais<br \/>For the Asociaci\u00f3n de Vecinos Les Planes del Rei (AVPR \u2013 SOS Planas)<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Message from Avan\u00e7a Pratdip<\/h3>\n<p><strong>To all property owners of Planas del Rei<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Due to COVID-19 restrictions, public meetings and assemblies of more than 10 people are prohibited in Catalonia.<br \/>\nTherefore, <span class=\"accentue\">the annual General Assembly of Avan\u00e7a Pratdip scheduled for August 2020 cannot take place<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, we wish to inform you of the actions we have taken this year with the Pratdip Town Hall. Below you will find the list of letters we have sent.
